TPC Stylish Suggestion| The Puffer Vest

Things are heating up over here at Taylor Phoenix & Company as we prepare our inventory for spring. It has been so nice to enjoy the first signs of warm weather and the sun on my face, I'm sure you can tell by my sunglasses and short sleeves in these pictures, that I'm enjoying it. I wanted to lay out in the yard and "tan" like I used to do in the driveway of my home growing up as a child. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough yet. so enough with the sun talk.

Today's stylish suggestion is a sweet little Liz Claiborne puffer vest that's been in our inventory since the very beginning. I think the best thing about this vest is that as the days get warmer it is even more appropriate to wear. I have a sage green one from Cold Water Creek; I purchased several years ago and I love how paired with a long sleeve Henley or crew-neck this vest makes for the best spring and fall accessory to any wardrobe. This one was found on one of our many consignment travels on the east coast.

You could snag this one here at Taylor Phoenix & Company. If it's not for you, and you know someone who could Rock This please SHARE! It's currently 20% off with promo-code StylishSug2

As always if you like what you see OR have some stylish suggestions about how you wear your puffer vest please share with us on Twitter at @Taylorphoenixco #TPCstylishsuggestion OR post to our Facebook Page we would love to add you to our blog and Pinterest pages as a stylish suggestion for curvy fashion!

Consigning with Taylor Phoenix & Company

So what I've been hearing from a lot of people is, "how do I do it?" I realize for some of us TPC is a very new concept. The idea that we can actually get more than a tax write-off on our clothing is as much a new concept as LYFT and Airbnb. I created this business because I saw it as a way for plus-size women to have their own consignment space where extended sizes were carried and embraced and where you could do a little something for the environment by up-cycling.

So, without further ado, here are the steps for consigning with Taylor Phoenix & Company, and please forgive me for not making this clear before now.
  1. Go through your closet and determine what pre-owned/new garments and accessories fit within our acceptance category. Be mindful of what you, yourself would purchase from a consignment store and make sure that each garment, accessory, etc. is clean and in excellent condition. We have a focus on designer clothing and accessories. A list of what TPC does not accept can be found here on our How it Work's page.
  2. Once you've figured that stuff out, take a moment to complete our Consignee Agreement. This form allows us to know you are interested and ready to sell and we will do what is necessary to activate your account and get you ready to go. Note: If you happen to visit the wardrobe log-in page and create an account, it will not be activated until we have received this form with all boxes check.
  3. Start staging, and photographing your stuff! You can find some great guidelines for pictures on our Consigning your Merchandise page. Make sure your garment is placed on a white plain background, so that it doesn't take away from the color/pattern of your item.
  4. Your vendor account should be active Now! So log-in into your wardrobe from the home page of TPC and start entering your wardrobe inventory. Please include a description of the fit, measurement of the pants (in case someone is petite or tall), along with the price you intended to receive from the buyer. Another note: please remember that your take home from all sales is 75% of the purchase price, unless there is a special on commission.
  5. We approve and post all pictures on to the site within 24-48 hours and voila you're consigning! When your item sells, you receive notification to ship and your buyer receives their sweet purchase in the mail.
  6. Send us the tracking number and we transfer payment to you via paypal. That's it. Easy-peasy my friend!
I hope these steps help you better understand how TPC works. Be sure to read all the content on our website under How It Works and Don't be shy ASK US QUESTIONS if you need help!

Happy Consigning!

1 Skirt 3 Looks

I love the way we can shop our closets for new looks. Fashion blogs and simple sights like Pinterest and Etsy can really help us transform our every day looks with style suggestions that can be applied to just about anyone’s closet. When TWhitmed added this Lane Bryant tweed skirt to the TPC inventory, I knew I needed to take a moment and give you a little style suggestion. A skirt of this nature can be worn in so many ways and although the looks I gave are more appropriate for business casual, add a white t-shirt and a pair of flats and you have a perfect look to wear on Saturday morning trips to the market. In the three looks below I tried to pair things that almost anyone would have in their closet like a blazer, button down skirt, or turtleneck. The print of this skirt can and should be considered a SOLID because it is more about texture than actual color.

I realize blue tights don't go with everything always but you can see how this pop of color can add something to an otherwise mono-tone ensemble. Stay tuned for more looks and stylish suggestions.

If you know someone who would look amazing in this skirt please let them know. You can find here on our website, as you can see it's size 26 and sells for $18.00. The best part is that all our stylish suggestions are 20% for this one use promo code StylishSug3.

If you love these looks or have others you would like to share about how you rock your tweed pencil, please comment below or tweet us @taylorphoenixco with a photo and we'll add you to our stylish suggestion board on Pinterest!
